What Would Cause A Person To Contemplate Downing 10 Aircraft With Bombs?
When I saw the news this morning, I wrote my earlier blog based on the information that had been released about the bombing suspects that had been found in London. Now more news has been reported on this near disaster and I find some of it even more troubling.
What would cause a person/group of people to contemplate bombing 10 aircraft full of civilians and dropping them into the middle of the ocean? It could have been a death toll of over 3,000 people.
How cold hearted does one need to get to be able to justify an act of such inhumanity for religious reasons? For that matter how could an action such as this be justified at all?
How could these people consider themselves shaheed (martyrs for Allah and deserving of paradise) by taking this action? Certainly the God that I know would not look favorably on this type of senseless slaughter.
Just exactly how far are these Muslim radical extremists willing to go to kill Americans and British civilians?
Well, I hate to tell you, but the news is bad. This cadre of terrorist, both those that are Al Qaeda and the Al Qaeda copycats, will go to any extreme. There is no limit to their hostility and desire for violence. The only limiting factor is that we can only hope that they will be caught before their plots can be played out. I am sure that there are even more diabolical schemes are in the making right now. Not only is Al Qaeda interested and adept at using explosives, but they are interested in and have been testing biological weapons as well.
These people simply do not value life in the same way as regular world citizens. By the very nature of their Muslim radical calling, they consider life here on Earth forfeit and their martyrdom a positive last action allowing them to enter into God's presence in paradise as heros. No matter if that action happens to kill women, children, senior citizens, young men, a husband, a boyfriend, wife, or girlfriend. Our lives and purpose here on Earth mean nothing to them.
Their's is a cause that many can simply not understand. One thing that you must understand is that these Muslim radical extremists are dangerous, they are deadly, they are actively planning and plotting, and they are right now waiting for a moment to spread death and violence.
Thank goodness for quality law enforcement in Britain and in the world community. I hate to think what the headlines would have been in a few days if the plotters had not been stopped today.
Fighting terrorism is everyone's job. As world citizens we must all be vigilant and aware of our surroundings and of unusual people, things, and events. When we are confronted with the unusual we must take action to report it promptly to the authorities. We may end up saving our own community, friends, neighbors, or even children someday by our own routine vigilance.
