Do You Believe That Iran Is An Essential Threat To The U.S.?
This one should be interesting! We're asking for another vote, and you can do it anonymously. Just click comments at the bottom of this post and let me know what you think.
The media is conflicted on the threat that Iran presents. One side speaks to the sovereignty of every nation and the other speaks of international responsibility. What do you think?
I would also be interested in your point of view on your views of statements that the Iranian President has made on the existence of Israel, his doubts on the Holocaust, and promises that Iran is only using nuclear energy research for economic improvements. This one is a hot topic!

Personally I believe that Iran may actually end up being a stabilizing factor for Iraq but I feel that the rhetoric from the Iranian President about Israel is most troubling.
I am not sure whether this talk is just talk to bolster his political capital or whether he would actually move to attack Israel.
I do not believe however that the US needs to be considering a military resolution to Iran's nuclear enrichment. I perceive that North Korea is a larger threat to world peace than is Iran.

Israel is saying that !!USA with

A person that has hate in his heart as happens to be the Iranian President, CANNOT BE TRUSTED. The USA must not gamble with this person or await to find out why he wants an atomic bomb. 9/11 is an example of what they can do. Why wait for the first bomb to fall on Israel or on us in order to react? I BELIEVE, THAT WE MUS BE ONE OR TWO STEPS AHEAD AND PREVENT THEM AS WELL AS KOREA TO MAKE ATOMIC BOMBS. Is not the matter of a right but of responsiblity. People driven by fanatics to do the killing, simply CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

I agree with the Watcher. Iran could very well be that missing peace in the Middle East. I dont truly believe at this point Iran poses much of a threat. If the U.S. wanted to go to war we could, however it would be surely be alone. And we would loose a lot of credibility in the international forum. If we can work out whatever the true differences there are then we can build a constructive and lucritive relationship with Iran. As far as Isreal and the conflict with the Palistinians, well that may be another story. Up until the late forties to early fifties, Isreal was not a state. This state was created for the Jewish refugees who had no home. So basically a group of world leaders decided to divide up an already occupied territory and said this is what it is. I think in order to get peace between Isreal and Palistine, there needs to be some sort of boundries set for their land and set up a recognizable government for their people. We also need to stop turning the cheek when our allies do something wrong and call them on it instead of backing them on wrongfull acts.

i personally feel Iran could be a threat to any nation .... BUT i feel they are on target and speak the truth as to what is and needs to be done ... i concur with the prestident of Iran .
maybe its time to rethink the world and the players ... ie.. leaders ... and yes i totally think Iran is the missing link in the middle east peace process.

US goverment and think tanks are not only threatening Iran with war almost everyday they have their army bases spread across whole middleeast countries surronding Iran. What will YOU do with this language of threat?
Let me translate a poem from a great Iranian poet to enlight your thinking about Iranian people in case being attacked. It says:
I will die if Iran dies
Evereyone shall die if Iran dies

The Biggest Threat to World Peace is the US. It is the only country in the whole world that used a nuclear device to kill civilians. They also have the biggest nuclear and conventional arsenal in the world. Why are they afraid of Iran having a bomb when they have such a great deterrant?. Israel also has enough Nuclear bombs to have a deterrant. The only reason for all this war talk by BUSH is so that he can go to Iran and steal their oil. Bush should Re-think his ambitious policies. Who is he trying to fool? Maybe only the naive Americans. America has a History of killing the Native Indians and stealing their land. Are they trying to repeat this in modern day society in the 21st century? Come to your senses BIG BUSH. You may have more opposition than you expect. Are you trying to drag this beautiful, wonderful country down the drain to fulfil your fantasies. Already our economy is down and factories are closing everyday. Honest hardworking Americans are losing their jobs and are being thrown on the street. The next threat may very well come from within the US. We are going downhill fast. This is what our enimies are waiting for.
The strength of this nation is our robust economy. If we lose this we lost it all. Please Mr BUSH forget Iran and the rest of the world. Do what the American public voted you to office for. It is to improve the economy and give everyone a better lifstyle. If you mind your own business and do your job instead of playing cowboy and indians we will have world peace.

Iran's President has insured that the coordinates for every major Population center, military base and industrial center in Iran has been fed into the fire control computers of American and Israeli Intercontinental Ballistic Missles and Submarines on Patrol in the Indian Ocean. I don't think he realizes what he has done.

This is no joke. The bible shows the presedent Iran is the false prophet in the mark of the beast. He is the fourth king.count them . Verse 31 he does away with the daily sacrifice and sets up the a god .He also clames to be a god. Read it in Daniel 11. The false prophet comes into view about the same time time Irans rocketsappear in scripture. He forcast his devices against them. The king of the south is Israel. This is how he does away with the daily sacrifice. He defeats Israel so Israel dosen't have the military power to stop him in verse 31. There is a lot to this chapter 11 that you must know about endtime prophecy.I will be posting about this on the message boards

Demonizing Israel is great politically for anyone with any ambition in politics of Islamic world. Demonizing Iran is equally powerful when it comes to US politics. It is an easy sell. There is nothing to be gained politically by trying to be the slightest fair to the other side.
No one is interested in truth. The truth is what you hear often. Coke CEO once said, if it's advertised a lot, it is true.

Do You Believe That Iran Is An Essential Threat To The U.S.?
Only insofar as it is essential the US leadership has external threats to focus the public on. The US has learnt from the past; media truth was inconvient, leaders like Gaddafi couldn't be baited into war. The US needed a reason to go to war without appearing to be the aggressor and they got it. More in fact by also creating an axis of evil.
Iraq: easy target. "You have WMDs". "No we don't". No they didn't.
North Korea: scary target. "We have WMDs". "No you don't". Seems they do...
Iran, however, has been an inconvient 'target' with tens of thousands of civilians already dying in earthquakes (1990,1997,2003). Mahmoud Ahmadinejad though has provided good sound bytes with regards to nuclear issues. As long as you don't compare it with the 28000 missiles the US has or the couple they used on civilians. As the main country policing (as in stopping) the afghan heroin export industry they are also interfering with traditional US army profits now that farming has restarted under US occupation. And let's not forget the US once shot down an Iran Air Airliner killing all 290 passengers. Although not an essential threat the US may feel that Iran still want to take a cue from the founders of modern terrorism; Israel, and one day return the serve.

I do not agree with the president of Iran, I think he should be more carefull in his speeches.
I believe that USA and Israel are responsible for most of the instabiltiy of the middle east
Attacking jews because they are jews is not acceptable, but Israel is totally a differnt matter.

I strongly believe that Americans shall wake up. The only way we will have peace, if we give Iran to taste the flavor we gave Japan. After all this gave us peace for 50 years.

i don not think so.at least in the 10 years from now.to prevent them having that we should not let them feel insecure as we are doing and have more inspectors on the ground rather than threatening them;
