Iran Behind Ethnic Attacks in Iraq

Ethnic attacks are soaring in Iraq. Pilgrims murdered. Kidnappings and executions of ordinary citizens. Bombings in busy outdoor markets. Shiite against Sunni. Iraqi neighbor against neighbor. And all the while clerics stridently screaming "revenge" in the mosques.

Why? Who's to blame? Who wins if Iraq descends into civil war? Certainly not the Iraqis. But Iran and it's ally Syria stand to gain significantly.

Iraqi civilians are being held captive by forces they cannot control. Iraq is the unwitting pawn in a fierce struggle for power in the Middle East. Iran is arming and financing terrorist cells all over Iraq to create daily horror and strife in an frenzied effort to undermine every attempt to become self-governing. A democratic Iraq is a serious threat to Iran. But an Islamic state would be a powerful ally, particularly if it is ruled by Iran's hand-selected tyrant. Iran will never allow peace to come to Iraq. Iran is the whirling Islamic dervish dancing along Iraq's border that will soon become a raging desert storm, blanketing the Middle East, suffocating any hope of peace.
