What Is America Doing To Win The War Against Terror?

Well, actually a lot. You can download from this site the full 29 page PDF document from the United States that details the view, interpretation, and actual steps being taken to fight the War on Terror.

The document is insightful and on-target. It pulls no punches and lays out a very clear understanding of our changing world and how Islam is being perverted as a tool to sanction violence.

The document expands the focus beyond Al Qaeda and concisely targets how and why terrorism is growing. The bad news is that really the struggle will be on-going. There is no "winning" this war. There can be a minimizing problems, but there will be no "win" ahead of us. Even with that, the dialogue and view points are carefully researched and on-target.

If you are looking for real answers on what is to be done and how it should be done, this document supplied by the White House and mentioned by President Bush in his address is interesting reading. Americans can be proud that their country is rising to the challenge of global terrorism and that the Bush administration has finally gotten clarity on the problems, their extent, and what is to be done next.

This whole "war on terro" thing is just a thinly disguised way for Bush and his cronies to wage war on the American people and anyone else they feel does not support their agenda either domestically or internationally. The abuse of power that he has undertaken to erode our civil liberties is a CRIME! YOu can now be put in jail with no reason with no way of people even knowing where you are and why you are being put there. You can have your personal privacy invaded by "spooks" from thh FBI, NSA, CIA or any number of "secret" organizations whose job it not to let the public know what is going on and how business is being conducted. Bush and his cronies' ability to frighten hundreds of millions of americans about foreign "terrorist" threats, is absurd. Your probablility of being hurt or impacted by an al Queda terroist action is less than being struck by lightning or attacked by a shark! It is orders of magnitude more dangerous to wander in SW WAshington DC, Oakland CA, or Compton in LA. Nevertheless, Bush has managed to blow everything out of proportion so our legal system and the US sytem of rule of law is now being subverted to his extremist policy of "safety" for americans. So who is benefitting from all this alleged "safety action"? Halliburton, Lockheed Martin and the major defense contractors. Eisenhower warned Americans about the power and danger of the US "military-industrial complex" back in the '50s and his word should carry even more wieght today than they did then. With the downfall of the Soviet Union, there was no place for these people to make billions of dollars and so some danger of "huge" proportions had to be concocted, and the "war on terror" is it. It is even more insidiously brilliant than any other possible strategy, becuause the "eneby" could be ANYONE.....you, your neighbor, your kid, al Queda, muslims, blacks

Wow, you are right on many topics and wrong on many as well. We must protect our freedom and our way of life.

However maybe you should have this conversation with a family who was on the plane from London to the US the day that British intercepted 15 terrorists whose plot was to blow up 10 planes simultaneously over the Atlantic.

What if your family had been on board? Would you have the same viewpoint today if the information that the government had found out by surveillance and "citizen spying" had averted a disaster that would have wiped out your entire family?

I think that it is easy to point fingers at the Government, but when it totally impacts your personal world, you have a whole different viewpoint.

What do you think the 3,000 families feel about the Bush program if it would have only saved the lives of their wives, husbands, and children from dying in the World Trade Towers If only we could have known to have stopped that attack by the surveillance methods that are being used now.

And now the $10 million dollar question, How could we have known? Well we wouldn't have known then, but we would know now! I read the PDF report as a glass half full, you read the report as a glass half empty. I saw the report as a success story and gameplan for success. You saw it as an intrusion into personal liberty.

No, I am not a total advocated for the betrayal of some of the unalienable rights of freedom that are protected by the US Constitution, but extraordinary situations require extraordinary measures.

I have even worried about the FBI and CIA tracking my efforts on this blog, but does it stop me? I have nothing to hide. The people who truly have nothing to hide will not be sent to a CIA prison only the people who are actually working in the terror network.

Don't you think that the professionals at the CIA and FBI can identify who is a threat and who is an every day citizen?

They probably ARE tracking your blog and have their computer experts mining out your identify and they probably now know exactly who you are. You should be more careful what you say or you could be one of those unlucky prisoners held in detention who have no idea why they are there and for how long they will be there. I would not trade those 3,000 lives or even 300,000 lives or even 3 million lives for the loss of our right to an attorney, the right to know the charges brought against me, and the right of a trial by a jury of my peers. There are some things you have to stand up and fight for.
